To enable Pulse Connexions to assist
you in finding suitable UK employment we need from you:
- a completed registration form
- an up-to-date CV with details of at least two professional
references
- details of any relevant professional membership e.g.
GMC, NMC, MDU, etc
- proof of eligibility to work in the UK
- two recent passport sized photographs
- copies of all certificates relating to your qualifications,
relevant to the work you are seeking
- a police check certificate (if available)
- an original document showing your National Insurance
number
The opportunities to develop the skills
you have attained in your chosen profession are numerous.
The work is varied covering all grades and specialties, for
example, SHO's in Medicine or Paediatrics to Consultants in
Surgery or Ophthalmology. Assignments can be short, medium
or long term.
Earnings vary according to experience,
grade and specialty. However, if we were to take an average
of around £900.00 for an SHO working a 56 hour week, this
gives you a good indication of your earning potential in the
UK.

We will try to offer you positions wherever you wish to work
in the UK, subject to availability.
Pulse Connexions are happy to help
you every step of the way. If you are an overseas candidate
outside the European Economic Community it is likely that
you will need permission to work in the UK, which comes in
the form of a work permit.
In order to obtain a work permit, you will first need an offer
of employment which Pulse Connexions will arrange for you.
Once you have received and accepted an offer, Pulse Connexions
will apply for a work permit on your behalf. Depending on
where you live in the world, you may also need an entry visa
as well as a work permit to enter the UK.
Yes. Partners and children are welcome
and can be added to your Work Permit documentation (we will
advise you on this procedure) and they will enjoy the benefits
of living and working in the UK with you.
If you are travelling from overseas,
Pulse Connexions will assist you in obtaining a bank account.
We have an excellent relationship with a major worldwide bank
and our introduction will help you to open an account on your
arrival. You will be issued with a cheque book and cashpoint
card allowing you 24 hour access seven days a week to your
funds.
It is a good idea to keep your passport and either a birth
certificate or drivers license as identification as you may
need this for other purposes. A letter of introduction from
your existing bank at home would also be desirable. Once the
account has been opened, you will be paid directly into this
account by the relevant Health Authority.
Having a driver's license is always
advantageous and expands your options for work. European Union
and Commonwealth citizens may use their original License for
up to 12 months in Britain, after which they may obtain a
UK license. If you are not eligible to use your license you
should obtain an International Driver's License. To do this,
go to your local drivers association prior to coming to the
UK with your current license, a passport photo and the appropriate
fee.
When in the UK simply go in person
to the nearest Department of Social Security and apply. For
the office nearest to you dial the BT operator on 118 500.
Accommodation is not normally provided
free of charge. If considerable travel is involved it may
be possible for us to arrange accommodation with the client.
Travel costs are not normally covered
if you are working within a reasonable distance from your
home. If this is not the case, we ask the client to pay some
or all of the cost. Many clients have a separate travel expense
form which can be obtained from the medical staffing department.
If you are coming to the UK from overseas,
we'll do everything we can to help ensure you have a smooth
transition into your new job. We provide regular contact,
social and networking opportunities, continuing professional
development and education. We can arrange airport transfers
to temporary accommodation. Please check our Working in the
UK section for more details on the benefits of living and
working in the UK.
Although wages are higher in the UK,
so too is the cost of living, particularly in the larger cities
like London and Manchester. To give you a general idea of
the costs compare the following items to what you are currently
spending: Can of Coke 50p, Loaf of bread 43p, 100ml Colgate
toothpaste £1.99p, 1kg potatoes 69p, 420g Can of baked beans
83p, Daily Newspaper 35p.
You should telephone our office and
advise the recruitment consultant of your reason for cancelling.
We acknowledge that this situation may occur due to unexpected
circumstances. We ask that you give us as much notice as possible
so that we can inform the hospital and find a suitable replacement.
No. There are no fees charged to candidates.
