In line with our ongoing commitment to
provide a high quality service, doctors seeking locum assignments
through Pulse Connections are required to adhere to the points
set out below:
- Produce your certificates for us to confirm the details
of your registration, medical qualifications, membership
of a medical de fence organization (where necessary) and
provide work permits and police checks where applicable.
- Provide (upon our client's request) your most recent
referee (last employer) and sign a statement that your
most recent employer is correctly identified. The statement
should also identify any GMC proceedings which are pending.
- If you are due to arrive outside normal working hours,
you should hand your references to the person who receives
you to give to the appropriate Medical Director the following
day.
- Ensure that any locum work you undertake does not entail
exceeding national limits on contracted hours or actual
hours worked. (As set out in The New Deal on Junior Doctors
hours).
- Provide dated documentary evidence of your health assessment;
and of the immunizations and test that your have had.
- Upon our client's request, complete a Health Declaration
and Statement of Criminal Convictions at the start of
each locum period.
- If you have Limited Registration, ensure that any locum
work you undertake is within the terms of the registration,
and does not damage your training interests.
- Co-operate with the medical staffing officer and the
senior clinician by reporting punctually.
- Countersign any completed report at the end of each
appointment, making written comments if desired.
- If you disagree with the contents of a report, contact
the relevant Medical Director.
All locum doctors working through our agency are expected
to be aware of their obligations as laid out in the 'Code
of Practice' document produced by the NHS Executive (August
1997).
Any locum deemed to be operating outside of recommendations
of this code may be removed from our register and our clients
informed.
